A Vai Mauronax

Vai Mauronax is a Blue-red unit.

Strategy[ | ]

Due to being able to freeze for 7, Vai is absolutely crushing against 1-supply large absorbers such as Centurion or worse, Defense Grid. It isn't bad even if the opponent's largest absorber is only a Wall, but the bigger that absorber gets, the better Vai gets.

Usually if there is neither a big absorber to freeze nor a good red sink Vai is not something you should get, as the double Animus will then mean wasting a lot of red. Something like Perforator makes it viable in almost any set.

Note that Vai's freeze costs an attack to use. Therefore it is important to not use it automatically, but only use it if it denies absorb, forks two important defenders, or something.

Also remember that the next turn damage indicator from your opponent doesn't account for the fact that Vai's freeze costs an attack, so you need one less defense than it says you need. (It also assumes that none of the freeze will be wasted, which is almost never the case.)
