Strategy[edit | edit source]
Tesla Coil initially offers great value in terms of gold for , considering it comes with 2 free Engineers. This benefit must be weighed against the cost required to keep the Tesla Coil firing over the course of the game though, as you likely will have to continuously buy Engineers only to sacrifice them for attack, especially with multiple Coils in play. You should also be wary of your Engineer supply, as when you run out of Engineers to buy your Tesla Coils won't be able to attack anymore.
Tesla Coil has some anti-synergy with itself because the more you have the more Engineers you have to buy every turn just to power them. This means not only that you will run out of supply more quickly, but also that it becomes hard to keep your defense granular, and maybe hard to spend your tech as well (because so much of your gold is being spent on colorless units every turn).
Because of their need for Engineers, Tesla Coils synergize well with units that produce Engineers like Sentinel and Hellhound. It also has good synergy with units that make a good use of the extra energy, like Galvani Drone, Electrovore or Cauterizer. Also, while it doesn't produce Engineers directly, the Antima Comet encourages the player to produce a lot of them making them an excellent follow-up to an Antima Comet attack.
