A Gauss Cannon
Gauss Cannon is a Green unit and part of the basic set and Antares. It's a relatively expensive attacker with high health.

Gauss Cannons are the basic Green attack units in Prismata. Compared to other basic units, Gauss Cannons are not as efficient as Tarsiers, which can be massed out for much cheaper. They also do not contribute to blocking purposes like the Steelsplitters. However, Gauss Cannons do have 5 health, making them the most durable base set attacker when a breach occurs. This high health also makes them a solid counter to Apollo, who cannot snipe the Cannons as they are the only attacker with more than 3 health.
A common mistake when massing Gauss Cannons is to also supplement it with an excessive amount of defense. To take full value of the Gauss Cannons requires also taking advantage of the very high health they have when the game whittles down into the late-game. Forcefield pairs nicely into this mind-set by converting your drones into a higher defense. However, playing with Gauss Cannons also means that having low-health attackers is not a great idea, since you are likely to be breached first.
Based on the Green resource, the advantage of Gauss Cannons is that they can be massed at a certain point when enough has been collected. This can be very important when facing blocking units with Frontline for you to reach the attack required to take them out. Although it is not advised to mass Gauss Cannons in most sets as it is significantly less efficient than Tarsiers.
Gauss Cannons can also constructed be by Gauss Fabricators which can give you eight Gauss Cannons over the course of eight turns.
